  4. The essay referenced II Corinthians 3:15-16. Have you felt the removal of a veil or blindfold in some way at sometime during your life? What happened?
  5. The dangers of hollow ritualism were referenced. Can you think of any practical ways of avoiding the trap of hollow ritualism?
  6. How would you counsel a person who finds pinpointing a specific moment for his or her own conversion difficult?
  7. God certainly wants the Christian to have a confident hope in His mercy. Some Christians teach that every Christian can and should know with absolute certainty that they are saved. What is the difference between confident hope and absolute certainty? Which do you feel is the more appropriate disposition of the individual Christian?
  8. How would you describe your own confidence in God’s mercy? How might a person weak in hope, strengthen their hope in God’s mercy?
