EC Virtual Institute Conference Call: A Day in the Life of an EC Missionary!
Your Phone, Nationwide
November 17th, 2011 4:00 pm — 5:00 pm
Central Standard Time
The Evangelical Catholic’s Campus Ministry Training Program (CMTP) is in full force this year, with three missionaries diving into ministry in Madison!
On our next conference call, Cody, Andrew, and Sarah will expand on what it is like to know, love, and serve Christ on the campus of the University of Wisconsin. They’ll share their experiences growing in faith, expanding their prayer life, being challenged, and most importantly, shining the light and love of Christ on the hearts of many students. Jason Simon will also be available to answer questions and share the great vision and excitement he has for these missionaries.
Each will give their insight into the Evangelical Catholic’s two-year training program. This program is an awesome opportunity to learn and be trained by established ministry leaders. For the first year, the missionaries work on the UW-Madison campus under the mentorship of the Evangelical Catholic staff.
Working with the staff of the EC, these missionaries are learning effective skills for sharing the Gospel on college campuses such as: leading small groups; mentoring others one-on-one; forming student leaders; organizing with a large group ministry; and for musicians, leading worship teams. All of these skills are part of the larger lifestyle of an evangelical Catholic.
During the second year, EC staff discern with the missionaries where they can best serve. An exciting prospect is the possibility of continuing the CMTP on the missionary’s home campus. In this case, Cody and Andrew will return to their alma mater in August prior to the beginning of the academic year. Cody will be returning to Iowa State University, and Andrew will be returning to Harvard. The EC will support the missionaries as they work alongside their campus ministries. If cooperation with the missionary’s home campus is not possible, the EC will find an alternative placement, either at UW-Madison or on another campus. Sarah is excited to remain in Madison for the coming year.
Each would love to share their experience about the great opportunity that this training program is. Join them!
